Privacy Policy

Franklin Tiffin Room ("FTR", "we", "us") is a home catering business in Somerset, New Jersey. This policy explains what information we collect when you order from us through the FTR iPhone app, on WhatsApp, or by text, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to take, prepare and deliver your order.

What we collect

• Phone number. Used to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your order. We don't use passwords.
• Name. So the chef knows who the order is for.
• Addresses. The delivery or event address you enter, and an optional saved address. We check the address on a map to work out the distance and any travel fee.
• Orders and requests. The dishes, quantities, dates, times and notes you send, custom quote requests, questions to the chef, and your order history.
• Saved cart. Items you've added but not ordered yet, so you can come back to them on any phone.
• Payment confirmation screenshots. If an order needs a Zelle deposit, you upload a screenshot of your Zelle confirmation. Payments are made in your own banking app; we never see or store your bank login, card or account numbers.
• Messages. Order updates from the chef and your replies, kept in the app's Notifications tab and on WhatsApp.
• Notification token. If you allow notifications, Apple gives us a device token so we can send you order updates.

We do not collect your location from your phone, your contacts, or your browsing activity. The app has no ads, no analytics trackers and no tracking across other apps or websites.

How we use it

• To sign you in, take your order, quote and confirm it, and arrange pickup, delivery or the Live Dose Station at your event.
• To send you order updates: approvals, quotes, deposit reminders, payment confirmations and changes.
• To confirm your deposit was received.
• To keep business records such as orders and invoices, as the law requires.

We do not sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who helps us run the service

We share information only with the service providers that make ordering work, and only for that purpose:

• Vonage: sends sign-in codes, WhatsApp messages and text messages.
• Meta (WhatsApp): delivers WhatsApp messages if you order or get updates on WhatsApp.
• Google: Google Sheets stores our order records, Google Maps checks delivery addresses, and Google Cloud Vision reads payment confirmation screenshots so the chef can check deposits faster.
• U.S. Census Bureau geocoder: a backup address check.
• Apple: delivers push notifications.
• Our hosting provider: runs the server that stores this information.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account details for as long as you use the app. Order records are kept for our business and tax records, generally up to seven years. Payment screenshots are kept until the order is settled and for our records afterward.

Your choices

• Delete your account anytime in the app: Account ▸ Delete my account. This removes your sign-in, saved name, address, saved cart and messages. Records of orders you placed are kept for our business records.
• Edit your name in Account ▸ Edit name.
• Turn off notifications in your iPhone's Settings.
• Ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or deletion of your order records by contacting us below. We'll respond within 30 days.

Security

Your information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are stored in your iPhone's secure Keychain and stored hashed on our server. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit access to the chef and the people who help run FTR.

Children

The FTR app and our services are meant for adults arranging catering. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we'll let you know in the app.
